Dumas inspired paintings

After my initial research into Dumas I was keen to explore her use of the ‘dispersed marks’. Looking through a few of her books and taking my own photography to work from, I’ve been able to explore into some monochrome paintings. Areas spread more than expected more after reading into the artist, i found she see’s mistakes as a reward and part of the developmental process of the work. “The worst mistakes can be the best outcomes”.
